BRAZILIAN JU JITSU

Any MMA fan will tell you that Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is one of the most effective forms of martial arts. Check out the UFC hall-of-famers and see for yourself.

Many fighters specialise in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and win by submission on the ground.

So what exactly is Brazilian Jiu-jitsu? Think of it like a game of human chess. Your goal is to “tap out” your opponent through a series of techniques and movements.

Our members will tell you the workout is energetic, challenging and highly addictive.

Don’t worry if the techniques feel a bit confusing at first – it usually takes a few months before you can start connecting the dots, but your friends will be impressed when you show off your ability to attack and defend yourself with chokes and arm bars!

 

MUAY THAI

If you’re after a fun cardio workout that’s going to make you de-stress, gain confidence and lose weight, Muay Thai is where it’s at!

These sessions blend in punches, kicks, knees and elbows into a full body exercise that’s effective and fast paced.

Muay Thai classes are a crowd favourite and it’s easy to see why. Students do more than live out a healthy lifestyle – they learn new skills and meet some cool people on the way!

 

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

The fusing together of standing and ground based martial arts gives you a base for the fastest growing combat sport in the world.

At Project Mahem you can learn and refine these specific disciplines from specialist teachers and then combine them into mixed martial arts.

 

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

The combat world’s coaches and athletes were at the cutting edge of functional strength and conditioning training long before it became a fitness industry fad.

So were the military. Ex-paratrooper Shaun Pepperell’s Para Fitness is an excellent workout blending free weights, bodyweight exercises and, in the summer, hill sprints.

Para fitness will optimise your cardio and tone and strengthen your body.
